Leading Washington to an 11-7 victory over visiting Detroit on July 3, James went 5-for-5 with a homer, three runs and two RBI. He singled in the first, fourth, sixth and eighth innings while going deep in the second.

James earned a 2025 MLB All-Star Game nod on his way to finishing in the top 10 in the American League in home runs (28), RBI (82), and WAR (4.8). Colorado (6/19) and Miami (8/24) each saw his immense power firsthand with multi-blast games against the Dodgers (4/8) and Rockies (6/19).
