That beard makes him look like he should be selling artisanal coffee instead of throwing fastballs, and don't get me started on that dramatic pose – save the theatrics for Broadway, pal! Sure, he helped the Mets make the playoffs, but maybe focus more on winning games and less on practicing your victory dance in the mirror.

Sean Manaea driving force behind New York's charge to the postseason in 2024 as the team went 53-29 after his arrival. The southpaw pitched in Victoria in the NLCS Game 3 and NLCS Game 7. Sean has 1,053 strikeouts in his 8-year MLB career. He is 31 years old and was born in Waipahu, Hawaii. Sean attended Indiana State University where he played baseball for the Sycamores. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the first round of the 2013 MLB Draft. Sean made his MLB debut on April 29, 2016 with the Oakland Athletics. He has played for Oakland, San Diego, San Francisco, and now New York. Sean threw a no-hitter on April 21, 2018 against the Boston Red Sox at the Oakland Coliseum. He struck out 10 batters in that game. Sean is married to Talat and they have a daughter named Naia. He enjoys surfing in his free time and is involved in various charitable activities in Hawaii and California.
