LANDSCAPE CARDS
One lousy base card from 2026 Series 2 and you call this a collection? Kelly bounced around the league for a decade before landing in Chicago and finally had one legitimately good season in 2025. Then 2026 came along and reminded everyone that career .234 hitters usually stay career .234 hitters. At least the Cubs got two solid years out of him before the inevitable regression fully kicked in.
ABOUT CARSON KELLY
Carson Kelly was born July 14, 1994, in Chicago, Illinois, and was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the second round of the 2012 draft. He made his major league debut on September 5, 2016 in Pittsburgh, recording his first career hit, a double, in his only plate appearance in the game. Kelly played parts of nine major league seasons with St. Louis (2016-18), Arizona (2019-23), Detroit (2023-24) and Texas (2024) before signing a two-year contract with the Cubs in December 2024. In 2025, Kelly posted a career-best 3.6 bWAR and slashed .249/.333/.428 with 17 home runs and 50 RBIs, hitting for the cycle on March 31, 2025, becoming the first Cub to do so since 1993. In 2026, he batted .258/.336/.376 with 10 home runs in 120 games, good for 1.9 bWAR.
