COLORADO ROCKIES
The Rockies don’t win much, but at least their prospect cards are affordable. Got a solid stack of Bowman Chrome featuring Zac Veen and Chase Dollander, plus some Finest rookies and a few signed ones sprinkled in. As the kids keep climbing through the system and next year’s Bowman drops hit the market, this binder’s only getting thicker—whether Colorado’s rotation likes it or not.
The Rockies have endured three consecutive 100-loss seasons, bottoming out with a franchise-worst 43-119 record in 2025 that set modern MLB futility marks. The collapse drove roster churn, with the team non-tendering second baseman Brendan Rodgers after the 2024 season, longtime franchise cornerstone Charlie Blackmon retiring in September 2024, and injuries derailing two-time Gold Glover Brenton Doyle in 2026 before his trade to Chicago, opening the door for rookie Cole Carrigg to claim center field. The exodus of Nolan Arenado, Trevor Story, and an injury-plagued Kris Bryant left Kyle Freeland as the lone survivor from the 2018 playoff team, effectively erasing demand for established Rockies veterans while shifting collector focus to top prospects Ethan Holliday (MLB's No. 24 prospect, drafted fourth overall in 2025) and Charlie Condon (No. 70, third overall in 2024).
Where they stand: The Rockies sit at 38-57 and fifth in the NL West as of early August 2026, still chasing improvement after last year's record-setting disaster despite a seven-year playoff drought. The offseason brought a front-office reset with Paul DePodesta hired as president of baseball operations and Josh Byrnes as GM, while the July trade deadline saw the team ship out Doyle and reliever Victor Vodnik to stockpile young arms and position players for the rebuild.
