📣 DAD’S TAKEON CAL RALEIGH

Look at this guy posing like he just hit a walk-off in the World Series when he's wearing a jersey that looks like my neighbor's backyard fence. Sports Illustrated Breakout Star? More like Breakout Star of looking confused while jogging to first base. And what's with the number 21 – did he pick it because that's how many seconds it takes him to run the bases?

ABOUT CAL RALEIGH

Oh man, Cal Raleigh just had one of the most insane seasons we've ever seen from a catcher. The Big Dumper, as Mariners fans call him, absolutely crushed 60 home runs in 2025, which is the most ever by a guy behind the plate and puts him in some seriously elite company as only the seventh player ever to hit that mark. Sports Illustrated named him their Breakout Star across all sports, not just baseball, and at just 28 years old he's the second youngest to ever reach 60 bombs. Collectors are going nuts for his stuff right now, especially his autographs and any low-numbered parallels since this kind of historic season doesn't come around often. His cards don't have that rookie premium since he's been around a few years, but anything from his monster 2025 season is absolutely worth grabbing.

Sports Illustrated named Cal its Breakout Star of the Year for all sports in 2025 after he swatted 60 dingers, the most ever by a catcher. He is only the seventh player to reach that homer total in a season and the second-youngest at 28. "It's a super cool award," Raleigh said of SI's honor. "It's not just a Baseball award. It's encompassing all athletes."
