Look, the Bulls binder isn’t what it was in the ’90s, but we’ve got a decent stack of Derrick Rose, some Rodman and Kukoc for the nostalgic types, and a pile of Donruss and Prizm rookies of Buzelis and the new guys. The rebuild’s messy, but that means next season brings fresh rookies to rip and a growing stack of young guns—this binder’s only getting fatter.
The Bulls finished 39-43 in both 2023-24 and 2024-25, losing in the play-in tournament each time, before going 31-51 in 2025-26 and finishing 12th in the Eastern Conference. Chicago traded Zach LaVine to Sacramento in February 2025 for Tre Jones, Kevin Huerter, Zach Collins, and their own 2025 pick, then dealt away Nikola Vucevic, Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, and Kevin Huerter at the 2026 trade deadline to accelerate the rebuild. Matas Buzelis broke out in 2025-26 with 16.3 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 46.3% from the field, while Josh Giddey averaged 9.1 assists per game, making both young players key cards to watch as the franchise builds around them.
Where they stand: The Bulls finished the 2025-26 season 31-51, missing the playoffs as the 12th seed in the East. Billy Donovan stepped down as head coach in April 2026, and the team hired new front office executives in May. Chicago selected North Carolina forward Caleb Wilson with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft after moving into the top four, joining a young core that includes Buzelis, Giddey, and 15th overall pick Dailyn Swain.
