High school basketball cards—because apparently we’re collecting guys who still need hall passes. Got a stack of Donruss featuring Tyran Stokes, Babatunde Oladotun, Alex Constanza, and other kids who might’ve just taken their SATs. No autos yet, but plenty of rookies if you’re into getting in early on players who haven’t played a college game. The pile keeps growing every time Donruss decides to print another high school set, so check back when next season’s prospects hit the binder.

High school basketball cards emerged as a legitimate collecting category following the NIL era, with manufacturers signing top prospects directly to card deals beginning in 2024-25. The Class of 2026 has driven significant collector interest, led by five-star prospects Tyran Stokes, Caleb Holt, Jordan Smith Jr., and Brandon McCoy, whose early cards appeared in Panini's unlicensed releases featuring NIL-signed players. The 2025-26 season saw Dynamic Prep's national title run and Prolific Prep's loaded roster elevate prep-school products, while traditional state championship storylines kept regional collectors engaged in local stars.

Where they stand: The 2025-26 high school season wrapped in March 2026 with state tournaments completed, and the Class of 2026 prospects have now graduated and enrolled at their college destinations. August 2026 marks the post-graduation lull, with collectors watching how Class of 2027 and 2028 prospects perform in summer showcases and early NIL signings to determine which prep stars will anchor the next wave of product releases when the 2026-27 season begins in November.
