ORLANDO MAGIC
The Magic gave us Penny Hardaway’s silky game and Dwight Howard’s shoulders, so yeah, they’ve earned their spot in the binder. Right now we’ve got a solid stack of Donruss cards and a handful of rookies scattered throughout. The prospect pipeline keeps churning, so expect more young guns and fresh releases to pile up as the season rolls on.
Orlando posted three consecutive first-round playoff exits from 2023-24 through 2025-26, going 47-35, 41-41, and 45-37 respectively, with the 2024-25 campaign marred by Paolo Banchero missing 34 games after a blazing 50-point October performance and an oblique strain that derailed his breakout. Banchero's injury and the team's offensive struggles cooled collector demand across the roster, though Franz Wagner's consistent production and the duo's limited time together kept interest alive in the young core. The Magic maintained elite defensive metrics throughout but fell short offensively, creating uncertainty around which young star would emerge as the true franchise player and card-market leader.
Where they stand: The 2025-26 season ended with a 45-37 record and another first-round loss to Detroit in seven games, prompting an offseason coaching change as the team hired Sean Sweeney from San Antonio. Orlando traded Kentavious Caldwell-Pope for Desmond Bane and brought back veteran center Nikola Vučević on a one-year deal, looking to add perimeter scoring to a core of Banchero, Wagner, and Jalen Suggs entering the 2026-27 campaign.
