SAN FRANCISCO
San Francisco basketball cards—yeah, they exist, and I’ve got a stack of them sitting right here. Plenty of L.J. Cryer, some Donruss, and a handful of rookies that made their way into the binder. The Dons don’t get much hobby love, but I keep adding to the pile whenever new product drops—more rookies and inserts are always on deck.
The Warriors traded for Jimmy Butler in February 2025 and reached the conference semifinals that spring, but the 2025-26 campaign collapsed after Butler tore his ACL in January and Stephen Curry missed 27 games, leading to a 37-45 finish and play-in elimination. Butler's cards surged when he arrived from Miami and posted 20 points per game on efficient shooting before the injury, while the decline in team performance and uncertainty around the aging core has cooled interest in most Warriors cards beyond Curry. The roster turnover included sending Andrew Wiggins to Miami in the Butler deal, and the team now faces questions about whether to move Butler's expiring contract or let him return from surgery.
Where they stand: The 2025-26 season ended with a 37-45 record and a play-in loss to Phoenix, the franchise's first losing season since 2020. The Warriors are in the 2026 offseason evaluating whether to trade Butler, who is recovering from a torn ACL and not expected back until late 2026, as they consider roster moves around 38-year-old Curry and explore potential deals for stars like Anthony Davis or Kawhi Leonard heading into 2026-27.
