The loss of star running back Jahiem White to a season-ending knee injury in Week 2 against Ohio derailed the offense and likely cooled collector interest in his cards, while true freshman quarterback Scotty Fox Jr. made his debut.
Where they stand: The Mountaineers enter the 2026 season at 0-0 with Rich Rodriguez in the second year of his second stint as head coach. The program faces roster turnover after Jahiem White and running back Diore Hubbard entered the transfer portal following the 2025 season. West Virginia opens September 5 against Coastal Carolina and faces a 12-game Big 12 slate.
