THE BRIAN DAWKINS COLLECTION
Base, parallels, numbered, autos — every Brian Dawkins card Dad’s willing to part with.
Look at this guy running around like he just spotted the last hoagie at Wawa. Number 20 with those tree trunks for arms – yeah, real intimidating until you realize he's probably just flexing because the photographer told him to "look intense." And what's with that chin strap? Buddy, if you need that much padding on your face, maybe stick to flag football.
ABOUT BRIAN DAWKINS
Oh man, Brian Dawkins is an absolute legend, especially if you're an Eagles fan. This guy was the heart and soul of Philadelphia's defense for over a decade, making seven Pro Bowls and playing with an intensity that was just off the charts. He was that rare safety who could lay the wood on big hits but also had the coverage skills to pick off passes, which made him one of the most complete players at his position. Since he doesn't have true rookie cards from his 1996 draft year, his early second-year cards from 1997 are what collectors really chase. Look for his autographed cards and low-numbered parallels, because anything with Weapon X on it holds solid value.
Dawkins lived up to his nickname 'Weapon X' in Week 4 of 2002. The do-everything safety registered a sack, interception and fumble recovery on defense and caught a 57-yard touchdown pass on special teams. He became the first player to record all three defensive plays and a receiving touchdown in a game.
Dawkins lined up in the safety position and was a 4-year starter at Clemson. In 1995, he had 107 tackles and 4 interceptions. Brian was the 61st overall pick in the 1996 NFL Draft by Philadelphia. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2008. Dawkins plays with tremendous intensity and is a team leader.
Dawkins is one of the most feared safeties in the NFL and a leader of the Eagles defense. A 6-time All-Pro and 9-time Pro Bowl selection, Dawkins made his first interception return for a touchdown in 2004 against the Giants. The hard-hitting safety recorded his first career sack in 1996 against the Cardinals. Dawkins was the 61st overall pick by Philadelphia in the 1996 NFL Draft.
