📣 DAD’S TAKEON PATRICK WILLIS

Look at this guy standing there like he's posing for a department store catalog instead of a football card. Arms just hanging there doing nothing – for a guy who supposedly led the league in tackles, you'd think they could've caught him actually, you know, *tackling* somebody. Even the pink gloves can't distract me from the fact that this looks like a senior portrait, not a Defensive Rookie of the Year.

ABOUT PATRICK WILLIS

Patrick Willis was an absolute tackling machine for the San Francisco 49ers, taken 11th overall in 2007 and immediately making his mark as Defensive Rookie of the Year. This linebacker was incredibly consistent, leading the Niners in tackles his first three seasons while racking up over 100 tackles each year and earning Pro Bowl honors every time. Collectors love Willis because he represents that era when the 49ers defense was getting nasty again, and his cards from those early years really capture a dominant defensive player in his prime. Look for his second-year cards since he doesn't have true rookies, and keep an eye out for any numbered parallels or autographed versions which tend to hold solid value.

The No. 11 overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, linebacker Patrick Willis was in 2007 Defensive Rookie of the Year and has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons. He led the 49ers in tackles in each of his first three seasons and has recorded at least 100 tackles in each campaign.

A teammate of Willis explained the leadership style that helped make the ferocious 49ers LB a Hall of Famer. "When I got to San Francisco, he was soft-spoken, really supportive and a great leader in a way that didn't draw attention to him," Chris Borland said. "The epitome of speak softly and carry a big stick."

Worked out before the draft at Notre Dame in 2007. Benched 225 pounds 23 times and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.51 seconds. The No. 1 linebacker selected in the 2007 NFL Draft when San Francisco chose him with the 11th overall pick.
