THE RICKEY JACKSON COLLECTION
Base, parallels, numbered, autos — every Rickey Jackson card Dad’s willing to part with.

Look at this guy posing like he's in some kind of action movie instead of just standing still for a picture like a normal person. Number 57 running around with those fancy gloves – back in my day, linebackers didn't need designer hand accessories to tackle people. And what's with that dramatic lighting? This is a football card, not a glamour shot at the mall.
ABOUT RICKEY JACKSON
Rickey Jackson was an absolute monster linebacker for the New Orleans Saints who put up some truly incredible numbers during his prime. This guy was doing something almost nobody in NFL history has ever done, posting double digit sacks and triple digit tackles in the same season three years straight from 1983 to 1985. Only the legendary Reggie White managed to have more of those rare double-double seasons, which tells you just how elite Jackson was. He's a Hall of Famer who doesn't get nearly enough respect from collectors, which makes his cards a solid value play right now. Look for his early 80s issues and any numbered parallels, since he doesn't have traditional rookie cards to drive up prices.
Jackson's fierce competitiveness helped him reach the top in the NFL. He was a key member of the Saints' 'Dome Patrol' linebacker corps that helped New Orleans reach the playoffs for the first time in franchise history in 1987. Jackson was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010 and had his jersey retired by the Saints. He finished his career with 128 sacks, which was an NFL record for linebackers at the time of his retirement.
Jackson is the only player in Saints history to reach double figures in sacks and triple digits in tackles in the same season — and he did it for three consecutive campaigns in 1983 (12 sacks, 102 tackles), 1984 (12 and 124) and 1985 (11 and 107). In NFL history, only Reggie White posted more such seasons with four.
