Young is a sharp passer, one of the best rising stars the league has to offer — and he's just as impressive on the ground. Facing Arizona in Week 16 of 2024, the second-year standout showed off his explosive feet in the second quarter, scrambling up the sideline for a career-long 23-yard touchdown run.

Young had optimism and confidence going into 2025 after his strong showing over the second half of the previous campaign. Proving himself to be a leader, he totaled 20 TDs (15 passing, five rushing) over his last 10 games. He really ramped it up over the final three, with 10 combined scores, no pickoffs and a passer rating of 111.6.

Ten straight games with a touchdown pass is not an everyday accomplishment in the NFL. Young pulled it off to close his second season, finding the end zone with his passing every game from Week 8 at a Denver to Week 18 at Atlanta, with that stretch the third-longest scoring strike streak in the entire 15 scoring strikes — three in the running mate.

The Panthers quickly learned much about Young, like his comfort level in crucial time. Bryce does well in high-stakes situations. Coach Dave Canales sent after the No. 1 overall pick's second season in 2024. That's when he performs at his best, whether it's end of halves or end of games.

Bryce continued to show encouraging progress during the sixth game of his third NFL season in 2025. Young carried the Panthers to a 30-27 win over the Cowboys on October 12 by throwing for 199 yards and three touchdowns, as he notched a 114.8 rating.

Bryce Young things together for the best passing game of his career – and the Panthers history – when he threw for 448 yards and three touchdowns in a 36-17 overtime win against the Falcons in Week 11 of 2025. In doing so, Young broke the previous franchise record of 432 passing yards set by Cam Newton against Green Bay in 2011.

The first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft after winning the nation's top award at Alabama, Bryce had a career day against the Cardinals early in the 2025 season. The dual threat threw for a personal-best 328 yards and three second-half scores, mounting a furious comeback. It marked Young's third career game with a trio of passing touchdowns.

To learn how to succeed as a Panthers QB, Young turned to somebody who knows: former Carolina star Cam Newton. "He's been here, he's done great things here, so I've tried to pick his brain about some things," Young said. "I'm grateful for his support, I'm grateful for him, obviously, caring so much for the organization."

Against the Lions in Week 5 of 2023, Young flashed his immense potential when he threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns against a stingy secondary. At 22 years and 75 days old, the rookie signal-caller became the youngest Panthers player to throw for three touchdowns in a game, besting Cam Newton (22-172).

Young was red-hot in the red zone in 2023, throwing 11 touchdown passes with no interceptions inside of his opponent's 20-yard line. Instead of opting for the QB sneak or even a Carolina version of the QB shove, he fired three 1-yard touchdown passes — two at Detroit in Week 5 and one vs. Houston in Week 8.

Aaron Rodgers raved about Young. "I like the kid a lot," he said. "I loved watching him in college. I like his demeanor, I like his movement, I like the way he throws. I trust a guy like Adam [Thielen]. Him and I have been buddies for a long time, and he raves about him. So, I think Carolina is in good hands."

Rookie seasons are all about improvement. By Week 16 of his 2023 debut, Young looked leaps and bounds better running the show in Carolina. Hosting Green Bay for a Christmas Eve showdown, the Panthers quarterback picked apart the Packers by throwing for a career-high 312 yards and two touchdowns.
