Plenty of rookies in here, no autos yet—because apparently nobody’s signing for the Buffs at the moment. Colorado went from 9-4 in 2024 to 3-9 in 2025 as quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter departed for the NFL Draft. The loss of Sanders, Hunter, and other key contributors triggered a steep decline in the Buffs' on-field results and shifted collector attention away from the program's current roster toward the departed stars, whose cards surged following Hunter's Heisman win and their draft selections.
Where they stand: The Buffaloes are in fall camp preparing for the 2026 season opener at Georgia Tech on September 3. Coach Deion Sanders enters his fourth year in Boulder with a rebuilding roster featuring freshman quarterback Julian Lewis, new coordinators on both sides of the ball, and heavy transfer portal additions aimed at reversing the 2025 downturn.
