Josh is a tough and relentless ball carrier who won the league's rushing title with 1,653 yards in 2022. A first-round draft pick, Jacobs has battled a number of injuries during his five-year career, but when he's healthy, he's one of the NFL's best ball-carrying backs.

In Green Bay, Jacobs gets to perform for one of the NFL's top fan bases in a historic stadium in sometimes legendary conditions. Just to be in the atmosphere you feel the energy; he said, "especially when it gets colder it is just a different vibe." A lot of winning "the vibe" which the veteran back coordinates to.

Everyone appreciates the O-line. Jacobs likes making the big guys look good by doing his job. "I always tell them, 'Shoot, just get on somebody. I'll make you guys look good," he said. "It's a partnership at the end of the day. I can't do my job without them, and when they do their job, I make them look good."

Green Bay hasn't always sported green. The team preferred navy and gold early in its history and didn't permanently go with its iconic color scheme until the 1950s. Rolling with throwback threads in Week 9 of 2024, Jacobs rumbled to 95 yards on 13 carries in a divisional bout against Detroit.

Proud of the position he plays, Jacobs is glad he added to its revival in the NFL in 2024. "Besides the quarterback, we touch the ball more than anybody else, so we have the most opportunities to create and be special," he said. "So I'm proud of a lot of these guys who stepped up and showed their versatility."

The Packers are focused. Jacobs is focused. That makes them a match. "The sense of urgency in this building, in this organization, is very high," he said. His purpose is to drive Green Bay on the ground, which he proved he could do with a 1,300-yard season in his first year with the "Titletown" franchise.

Jacobs powered his way into the end zone a career-best 15 times, finishing one off the pace of the NFL leaders. Jacobs eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the fourth time in his career, with his 1,329 yards ranking sixth in the league.

One season was all Jacobs needed to place himself in exclusive company in Green Bay. Joining the Packers in 2024, he ripped off 1,329 yards and tallied a career-high 15 touchdowns. Dominating foes, the star became the fourth back in franchise history to record at least 1,300 yards and 15 TDs in a season.

In his first season in Green Bay, Jacobs emerged as a workhorse with 301 carries for 1,329 rushing yards in 2024. The three-time Pro Bowl back recorded the sixth 300-carry season in team history, joining Ahman Green (twice), Edgar Bennett (1995), Dorsey Levens (1997) and Ryan Grant (2008).

He earned his third Pro Bowl nod by wearing down opponents with his relentless running style. Jacobs topped 300 carries for the second time and set a career high with 15 rushing touchdowns.

Jacobs was ready for an encore in 2025 after living up to his billing as one of the game's true workhorse running backs in his first season with Green Bay. His 301 carries for 1,329 yards in 2024 marked the first time a Packers rusher topped 300 carries in a season since Ryan Grant did it in 2008.

After signing with Green Bay, Josh showed off his nose for the end zone, scoring 15 touchdowns in his 2024 debut. It didn't take long for veteran Packers linebacker Eric Wilson to figure out how big of a problem Jacobs is for opposing defenses. "Having to guard a guy who's not only dangerous out of the backfield, but [also] when it comes to running routes. … He's a helluva combo," Wilson said.

Green Bay backup QB Sean Clifford wore No. 8 before Jacobs arrived and requested the number (it's the one he wore in college). Clifford took one (or No. 6 in this case) for the team and wrote on X, "Was a great run, but wouldn't want anyone else to rep the (eight-ball emoji)! Excited to get to work brother, Josh Jacobs."
