Look at this guy posing like he's about to start conducting an orchestra instead of blocking for Mahomes! Kid's got his arms spread wider than my grocery bill, and he's talking about "understanding the magnitude" – buddy, the only magnitude I see is how much you're overthinking this photo shoot. Maybe spend less time practicing your dramatic poses and more time in the weight room, because that uniform looks like it's wearing you instead of the other way around!
ABOUT JOSH SIMMONS
Josh Simmons is the Chiefs' first-round offensive tackle who's got the huge responsibility of protecting Patrick Mahomes' blind side. This guy's got that rare combo of athleticism and raw power that made Kansas City grab him early, and he knows the pressure that comes with being drafted by a championship organization. He transferred from San Diego State to Ohio State and earned All-Big Ten honors, so he's proven he can step up at the highest level of college ball. Since he doesn't have rookie cards, collectors are mainly hunting his first NFL cards from this season. Look for his numbered parallels and autographed versions, especially anything that highlights his connection to Mahomes and that championship Chiefs offense.
NFL podcasts can be a good place for early scouting reports on rookies. On New Heights with Jason & Travis Kelce, Simmons was the subject in training camp in 2025. "This kid, he is the closest thing I've seen to Trent Williams," said Jason Kelce, a former center. "Like that next-level strength and athleticism."
As yearly Super Bowl threats, the Chiefs don't have many weaknesses. The draft gives them a chance to add strength to strength and continue dominating every season. With their first selection of 2025, the title challengers beefed up their front line by taking Simmons, a no-nonsense protector.
