Tai created one notable separation within impactable route-running and blazing speed. He topped the Big Ten in receptions and receiving yards in 2024, and led four-year totals. The Second Team All-American logged the 100-yard games, including a super catch, 178-yard, two-score performance in a 30-7 victory against UConn on August 31.

He broke Maryland's single-season record for catches (87) and yards (1,023) after a touchdown. He gets right back to work for another.

From his days playing Madden alongside his dad to dominating in youth leagues, Felton knew the gridiron was his place. "I feel like football has always been in my blood since I was a little kid," he says. "They say my first steps weren't walking, I was always running. I feel like that's where I got my speed from."

Felton made an impression on the Vikings even before he was a Viking. At his Pro Day, the wideout was told by receivers coach Keenan McCardell, "I'm going to fight to get you." It happened in the third round, and the University of Maryland product began another round of impressing as a Viking.

Tai relies on high-step stutter moves when breaking off routes, as he provides impressive separation. On deep passes, he tracks the ball nicely over his shoulder and then offers terrific get-away speed in the open field, maximizing yardage after catches. Felton shined at Maryland in 2024, with 1,124 yards and nine touchdowns to close out his NCAA career.

Volume passes catching at Maryland. Felton got to the Vikings with the experience to catch 172 passes at the collegiate level as a combo wideout who can play outside and inside numbers.

Defensive backs? More like backpacks. Felton turns cornerbacks into shoulder straps and wears them proudly as he makes contested catches and churns ahead for extra yards. After acing the game at the University of Maryland, the secure speedster took his talents to Minnesota in 2025.
