In New England, Henderson is right at home. The Patriots are a championship franchise, and he joined them from a championship program in college. "What excites me the most is being a part of the culture," he said. "You know what they are trying to do in New England. … They're always trying to compete for a Super Bowl."

TreVeyon generated buzz among collegiate coaches during his prep career without even touching a football. He was a standout track athlete who ran the 100-meter dash in 11.04 seconds, and that speed remained one of his defining traits at OSU.

TreVeyon was one of the most explosive backs in college football in 2024, with more than 20% of his carries going for 10+ yards. He's more than just a runner, too. Henderson is an excellent pass-catching back and top-notch pass-blocker who makes a habit of bulldozing linebackers out of their cleats.

TreVeyon can beat teams in a variety of ways. He's fast, powerful, and an asset in the passing game. Henderson finished his Ohio State career as the school's fifth-ranked all-time rusher and his touchdown total stands third. He was instrumental in the Buckeyes' run to the 2024 national title, scoring five times.

Coming off a track-back season with a 4-3 record, the Patriots needed a playmaker in the backfield. Henderson, a second-round draft pick in 2025, is a ball-carrying and pass-catching threat with speed to spare.

Henderson is using franchise great James White as his inspiration for his style of play and his mindset as a Patriot. The 2025 rookie isn't concerned about the number of touches he receives; he just wants to make sure he's an effective change-of-pace back whenever his number gets called.

Julian Edelman believes Henderson will immediately become great help for Drake Maye in the passing game. "Well, if everyone's downfield, it's one-on-one with the running back. If you got a guy who can win on the route, that turns into 20 yards," the wideout said on the Games with Names podcast.

TreVeyon wrecks pursuit angles with a lightning first step and elite acceleration. Once he's through the crease, it's panic time for defenses. Henderson runs tighter than his frame suggests, catching naturally and remains good blocking with explosives. Over a five-game stretch that began on November 9, 2025, he averaged 88 rushing yards and scored seven TDs.

Henderson ripped the price tag off the Patriots. The team was convinced, and it's easy to see why. A souped-up speedster who contributes as a runner, receiver and blocker, the Ohio State product won over every pro club. New England valued him the most and pounced during the second round of the 2025 draft.

Coming out of Ohio State, Henderson is a 6-1, 215-pound (can) versatile back with a 4.39 speed. Started in all 42 games at Ohio State and finished his career with 3,525 yards and 42 TDs.

CBS Sports' Chris Trapasso views Henderson as a modern-day back who can produce instantly. "He's a rock in pass protection, runs hard with plus cutting skill between the tackles, and, his specialty, can generate huge plays as a receiver out of the backfield," Trapasso wrote of the Patriots rookie.

Coming off a career-high 14 all-purpose touchdowns in 2024, Henderson is primed to be a featured back in New England's offense in 2025.
