The San Diego Chargers section is a time capsule of powder blue glory before the whole operation packed up for LA. You’ll find plenty of Dan Fouts and Kellen Winslow alongside some solid Donruss and Prizm base cards from the Air Coryell era through the early 2000s. No autos in here yet, but the vintage pile keeps growing every time I crack open another box of old football—turns out nobody threw these things away.
The Chargers finished the 2024 and 2025 seasons with matching 11-6 records and made consecutive playoff berths for the first time since 2008-2009, though they lost to the Patriots in the 2025 Wild Card round. Rookie receiver Ladd McConkey set franchise rookie records with 82 receptions and 1,149 yards in 2024, immediately elevating his card market, while veteran Joey Bosa was released in March 2025 after the team's defensive retooling. Quentin Johnston posted 735 yards and eight touchdowns in 2025, giving him 16 scores over two seasons, though McConkey saw his numbers dip in his sophomore campaign as the passing game struggled, creating potential buy-low opportunities for collectors.
Where they stand: The Chargers are in the 2026 preseason, having played at Houston on August 13 and hosting the 49ers on August 20 and Rams on August 27. The team added former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel as offensive coordinator, and quarterba Justin Herbert returns healthy alongside offensive linemen Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt after their 2025 injuries. Los Angeles selected outside linebacker Akheem Mesidor 22nd overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, with the regular season set to open September 13 at home against the Cardinals.
