In his third season (2020), Warner became an All-Pro. Perhaps more significantly, it was also his first season as a captain — an honor that said just as much. "He pushes us daily," fellow linebacker Dre Greenlaw said. "He's definitely been setting the standard of what you do after practice, before practice … all that."

Warner has made First Team All-Pro four times over the past five years, and the scary thing is, San Francisco's star LB continues to stack and hone his skills. "I think Fred has gotten much more productive defeating core blocks and tackling with more physicality," an NFL coordinator told ESPN.com.

Warner added more accolades to his outstanding résumé in 2024. Anchoring a stout 49ers defense, the linebacker recorded 118 tackles and forced four fumbles. Excelling in coverage as well, he tallied seven pass breakups and two interceptions to earn his fourth Pro Bowl and First Team All-Pro selections.

In 2024 Warner added a third straight year as a First Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl player to the talking points about his career. It game him four of each honor in his first seven parts. Over the three-year span, the third-round defender had seven interceptions, nine forced fumbles, 5.5 sacks and nearly 400 tackles.

Several elite defenders have played in San Francisco over the decades. Warner set himself apart from the rest during his first seven seasons. Recording 15 picks and 10 forced fumbles, he became the first linebacker in 49ers history to hit double digits in both stats over that career-starting stretch.

Fred is perfectly suited to patrol the middle of the field in a pass-first league. He has the skills of a nickel corner, safety and linebacker all rolled into one. Warner led all players at his position with 28 passes defended from 2022-24 and registered 115+ tackles in each of his first seven seasons.
