📣 DAD’S TAKEON KURTIS ROURKE

Look at this guy posing like he's about to throw a touchdown in his senior portrait. He's got that "I lettered in three sports AND got a 4.0" haircut going on. Kid went from Indiana to the 49ers – probably spent his whole signing bonus on hair product and that smug "I'm better than Kyle Shanahan's last quarterback" look.

ABOUT KURTIS ROURKE

So Kurtis Rourke is the quarterback who just got drafted by the Niners after putting together an incredible season at Indiana. Kyle Shanahan absolutely loves what he saw on tape, raving about his size, his arm, and how he runs the offense. The 49ers went all in on this kid because he's exactly the type of QB Shanahan wants running his system. Since he doesn't have traditional rookie cards from his college days, his first pro cards are going to be the ones collectors want, especially any numbered parallels or autographs you can find.

Rourke orchestrated a storybook season at Indiana and the 49ers are all in. "Love the size, love how he throws, love how he plays the position, especially watching him this year," head coach Kyle Shanahan said. "I think it was a coincidence how good of a year they had with the type of quarterback they had."

In a summer scrimmage, the Hoosiers knew. They had their quarterback. Rourke "separated himself pretty significantly," coach Curt Cignetti said. He was talking about the competition on the team, but later the statement could have applied to his QB's season, as he led the Big Ten in passing efficiency.
