After his rookie season provided "a good foundation," Smith-Njigba marked his second year with a major milestone when he caught 100 passes. His 2024 campaign earned him his first Pro Bowl invitation and established the former first-round selection as a major part of the Seahawks' plans into 2025 and beyond.

Jaxon is a route artist with nimble feet and an elite feel for space. He glides through traffic, snaps off breaks and turns clustering into clean separation. His hands are vacuum-sealed. In 2023, Smith-Njigba became the only rookie since 1990 with two game-winning TD catches in the final minute of the fourth quarter.

Smith-Njigba felt as if his rookie season was a good foundation. It was the concise stat on which he built a Pro Bowl campaign in 2024. Stacking up 50 receptions like blocks in a wall, he second-year star recorded at least 100 receiving yards in 6 of his 17 appearances.

A polished receiver with sharp route-running and elite spatial awareness, Jaxon has strong hands and great body control that make him reliable in traffic. He's a dependable chain-mover who excels on timing routes, consistently winning with his quickness.

Smith-Njigba broke out in 2024, finishing as the team leader in receptions (100), yards (1,130) and receiving touchdowns (six). His efforts resulted in his first career Pro Bowl selection, joining Brian Blades (1989) and DK Metcalf (2020) as Seattle wide receivers to earn the honor in their second NFL season.

Coming off his first 1,000-yard season in 2024, when he ranked 12th in the league with 1,130 yards, Jaxon took his game up a level in 2025. Installed as Seattle's primary receiver, Smith-Njigba cleared the century mark in four of the first six games. That included a 162-yard effort against the Jaguars in Week 6, when he hauled in a 61-yard touchdown.

Smith-Njigba turned nearly all of his opportunities into huge plays during Week 5 of 2024. The highlight-reel playmaker grabbed seven catches for a season-high 180 yards and touchdowns. His longest play was a 46-yard reception that helped set up a second-quarter score vs. the Rams.

A well-rounded receiver, Smith-Njigba can beat the defense by making highlight-reel snags downfield or steadily wear it down by snatching pass after pass underneath. Through Week 10 of 2023, the rookie had at least one catch in each game, including touchdown grabs in back-to-back games in Weeks 7-8.

Seattle quarterback Drew Lock believes that Smith-Njigba is just flat-out special. "There's guys that walk out on the practice field Day One, your eyes kind of open when they do their first route, run their first play," he said of the 2023 rookie. "He was one of those guys for me. I think the sky's the limit for him."
