Look at this dump – "Marine Gifts & Sundries" plastered on some crusty old shell like it's the Vegas strip! What kind of tourist trap calls itself a "city" when it's just a glorified gift shop run by some one-eyed weirdo? No wonder those yellow buffoons fell for it – probably paid $20 for a snow globe and called it a cultural experience!
About Shell City
Not an actual city, Shell City was a gift shop that was owned by a Cyclops. SpongeBob and Patrick went there to retrieve Neptune's crown. Shell City features and turning sea creatures and tourists. SpongeBob and Patrick nearly suffered the same fate, but they triggered the sprinklers, causing the other sea creatures to rebel.
