HOUSTON COMETS
The Houston Comets don’t exist anymore, but their cards sure do. I’ve got Prizm stuff featuring Tina Thompson and Sheryl Swoopes—legends who actually won championships before the league folded the franchise. The vintage pile keeps growing every time I crack old WNBA wax, so check back if you’re chasing pieces of the dynasty that started it all.
The Houston Comets name does not currently have recent seasons to report on. The original Comets franchise folded after the 2008 season. The Connecticut Sun are set to relocate to Houston and become the new Comets starting in 2027, but as of August 2026, this transition has not yet occurred.
Where they stand: The Houston Comets brand is not active for the 2026 season. The Connecticut Sun are currently playing their final season in Connecticut before relocating to Houston and rebranding as the Comets for the 2027 season.
