PHOENIX MERCURY
The Mercury binder’s got a solid stack of Diana Taurasi and Penny Taylor, plus plenty of Prizm and Select filling the pages. No autos yet, but the rookie collection keeps growing. Every year brings another draft class and another wave of shiny cardboard, so check back—this thing’s only getting thicker.
The Mercury bottomed out at 9-31 in 2023, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2012, then went 19-21 in 2024 and lost in the first round 0-2 to Minnesota after trading for Kahleah Copper. Phoenix surged to 27-17 in 2025 behind the Big Three of Alyssa Thomas, Copper, and Satou Sabally, reaching the Finals before falling 0-4 to Las Vegas. Diana Taurasi retired before 2025 and Brittney Griner left for Atlanta in free agency, ending collector demand for their Mercury cards, while Thomas (9.2 apg, 8.8 rpg) and Copper became the team's statistical leaders during the Finals run.
Where they stand: The Mercury sit 11-18 and 6th in the Western Conference as of August 9, 2026. Phoenix re-signed Thomas and Copper to new deals in April following the league's revamped CBA, but lost Sabally in free agency after her one-year stint. At 10-18 and 5.5 games behind the eighth seed around the trade deadline, the Mercury face an uphill climb to return to the postseason.
