The Mystics binder’s got a solid spread of rookies like Aaliyah Edwards and Jacy Sheldon, mostly Prizm and Select doing the heavy lifting. No autos yet, but plenty of base and parallels holding down the DC side of things. The Mystics went 19-21 in 2023 and scraped into the playoffs as the seventh seed, then slid to 14-26 in 2024 and 16-28 in 2025, missing the postseason both years. The franchise traded two-time All-Star Ariel Atkins to Chicago for the No. 3 pick in the 2025 draft, then dealt Brittney Sykes to Seattle for a 2026 first-rounder, pivoting hard into a youth movement. Rookies Sonia Citron (No. 3 pick) and Kiki Iriafen (No. 4) both earned 2025 All-Star selections, driving collector interest in their rookie cards as the young core emerged faster than expected.
Where they stand: Washington sits at 17-12 and fourth in the Eastern Conference as of early August 2026, with the youngest roster in the WNBA. Second-year stars Citron and Iriafen continue to control the offense, with Citron averaging over 17 points per game, while the team added four 2026 draft picks including No. 4 overall Lauren Betts. The front office made no moves at the trade deadline, staying the course with their young core.
