ABOUT SION JAMES
Sion James (born December 4, 2002) is an American professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Sion James grew up in Sugar Hill, Georgia and attended Lanier High School. During his four seasons at Tulane, James played in 114 career games, including 107 as a starter, averaging more than 34 minutes per contest. Sion James played in all 31 games for the Green Wave last season, averaging 14 points (third on the team) and 5.4 rebounds (second on the team) per game while playing the most amount of minutes at 36.8 per contest. A rookie second-round pick, James spent four seasons at Tulane before joining Duke for a fifth and final collegiate campaign in 2024-25. James was selected in the second round of the 2025 NBA draft with the 33rd pick by the Charlotte Hornets.
James appeared in all 82 games (including 19 starts) for the Hornets during his rookie campaign, recording averages of 5.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists.
