THE JOSE CANSECO COLLECTION
Base, parallels, numbered, autos — every Jose Canseco card Dad’s willing to part with.
A 2026 Prizm issue for a guy who last played in 2001 feels like shameless nostalgia milking, but at least they picked the right uniform. The Orange parallel matches the garish swagger Canseco brought to the plate. Prizm loves recycling retired sluggers into fresh chrome, and collectors keep buying them, so here we are, still chasing Bash Brother refractors a quarter century later.
ABOUT JOSE CANSECO
Jose Canseco was born July 2, 1964, in Havana, Cuba, and broke into the major leagues on September 2, 1985, with the Oakland Athletics. He crushed American League pitching with 33 home runs and 117 RBIs in 1986, earning him Rookie of the Year honors. In 1988, Canseco became the first player in MLB history to hit 40 home runs and steal 40 bases in one season, finishing with 42 home runs, 40 stolen bases, a .307 batting average, and 124 RBI. He won the 1988 American League MVP award unanimously. Canseco won two World Series championships with Oakland in 1989 and with the New York Yankees in 2000, and ranks fourth all-time in Athletics history with 254 home runs. The collection includes a 2026 Prizm Orange parallel of the Oakland slugger, adding a modern chromium edition to commemorate his power-hitting legacy.
