ASHTON JEANTY — COLLEGE DAYS
College-era cards of Ashton Jeanty from draft picks and collegiate sets.

Look at this kid posing like he's already scored a touchdown when he probably just finished a handoff drill! Those dreadlocks sticking out of his helmet make him look more like a reggae musician than a football player. And what's with clutching that ball like it's his security blanket – son, you're supposed to RUN with it, not hug it for comfort!
ABOUT ASHTON JEANTY
Oh man, Ashton Jeanty is going to be a fun one to watch with the Raiders. The Cardinals grabbed this Boise State powerhouse with the fifth overall pick in 2025, which tells you everything about how highly they valued his talent. This kid has that rare breakaway speed where he can turn any handoff into a house call, and his college tape was absolutely electric. His rookie cards are already generating serious buzz since running backs with his combination of draft position and big-play ability don't come around often. I'd definitely keep an eye out for his numbered parallels and autographed rookies, those are going to hold premium value if he lives up to the hype.
A tackle-busting playmaker, Ashton was at the top of the rookie rushing class in 2025 with 975 yards and five touchdowns on 266 carries. Jeanty also caught 55 passes for 346 yards and five scores. He logged 188 total yards against the Texans on December 21.
Ashton led all rookies in rushing yards and had the second-most total touchdowns in 2025. He also set a Las Vegas single-season rookie record with 1,321 scrimmage yards. Jeanty displayed the same kind of toughness he was known for at Boise State, with 57% of his rushing yards coming after contact and the third-most broken tackles in the league (24).
Ashton heads into 2026 as a foundational piece in Las Vegas. He kicked in the door on the NFL during 2025 by notching 1,321 total yards and 10 touchdowns, including 975 ground yards and five scores. A dual-threat star, he looms as a constant big-play threat.
Jeanty became a meme as he ran rampant on defenses all year long during the 2024 season. His notorious pose that featured him standing straight up with his arms by his side in the backfield presnap before making big splash plays was one of the most circulated and repurposed images on social media.
Ashton showed all the skills that made him the sixth overall pick in 2025, rushing for 138 yards and 6.6 yards per carry against the Bears on September 28. He was the first Raiders rookie to score three touchdowns in a game since Bo Jackson in 1987.
Pete Carroll has coached great rushers from Reggie Bush to Marshawn Lynch — so his words about Jeanty carry weight. "He can run with power," Carroll said. "He can run in short-yardage areas and find the spacing he needs to make the plays. And he's got that marvelous ability that, on any play, he can score."
One of the premier prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft, Jeanty is a determined runner who pounds the rock right through the teeth of the defense. He forces the defensive pursuit to flow hard outside to contain his speed, then cuts hard back across the grain while racking up big chunks of yardage.
Pro Football Network's Ian Cummings sees Jeanty as a 1-of-1 talent. "As a creative threat, Jeanty possesses a devastating elusion fusion that combines crisp agility, lower-body flexibility, post-cut explosiveness, effortless contact balance, and a sixth-sense level of spatial understanding and feel," Cummings said.
The first running back since 2018 to get drafted in the top six picks, Jeanty is undeniably special. His "rolling ball of knives" running style has legends Barry Sanders and Marshawn Lynch, among many others, fired up to watch him carve up defenses in Las Vegas for years to come.
Ashton enjoyed a breakout performance in Week 4 of the 2025 campaign. He tore up the Bears by running 21 times for 138 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown. Jeanty also caught a pair of passes and scored both times, showcasing his multi-faceted skillset and terrific field vision – traits that resulted in Las Vegas drafting him sixth in 2025.
Jeanty showcased perseverance and a tireless work ethic throughout his first pro training camp. "You can devote all the time you want to the game of football," the 2025 rookie said. "And this game, you get what you put in. I'm grateful for that and I'm going to keep putting in and getting out great things."
When the Raiders drafted Jeanty, they got the most complete runner available. His all-in game includes immense physicality. "He's amazing after contact," offensive coordinator Chip Kelly said. "Our job right now is just getting him lined up, have him understand our offense and then let him go."
According to his coach at Boise State, Jeanty will also make an impact on the Raiders away from the field. "They're getting an elite human and someone who I believe will go in that locker room and change the culture immediately with how he works and how he treats people," Spencer Danielson said.
Defenderless shudder at the prospect of facing Ashton Jeanty and his punishing running style. He played up to varsity his final season at Boise State in 2024, breaking tackles and records at equal measure. At a first-team All-American, Jeanty became the first player to record 14 games of 100 or more ground yards in a season. He achieved that nation with 161 rushed tackles.
Ashton is a Swiss-army back with nitro in his shoes, showcasing patient vision, sharp cuts and burst that turns daylight into breakaways. He runs with balance, catches like a slot receiver and delivers chunk plays. Jeanty scored three touchdowns (two receiving, one rushing) vs. the Bears on September 28, 2025.
Getting a hand on Jeanty is easier said than done. Shifty in the open field, the Raiders rookie utilizes a deep bag of moves to make defenders trying to tackle him look silly. Slick jukes, quick stutter-steps and smooth spins leave opponents grasping at air as he strides past them.
Jeanty watched Saquon Barkley steamroll his way to a Super Bowl ring during the 2024 season and came away inspired. "I thought, 'That can be me,'" he wrote in The Players' Tribune. The Raiders believed it, too, leaping at the chance to draft a superstar who makes highlight-reel plays an every-down occurrence.
In The Player's Tribune, Jeanty explained the mindset that helped him thrive at Boise State — one that will carry over to his days in Silver and Black. "I truly believe I was born to do this," he said. And I truly believe what makes me different — it isn't about the position I line up at. It's about the mindset I bring to it."
Jerry has a marvelous ability according to the head coach, John what is? The Cards selected the Boise State standout with the 5th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Jeanty was a phenomenal player who can take the distance at any time.
Even in shorts, Jeanty looked absolutely spectacular once he got in space. His showings during OTAs had everyone ready for when the pads came on later. "He's special with that ball in his hands, we know that, and we have got to keep getting it to him so he can go out there and be great," QB Geno Smith said.
When Las Vegas made Jeanty the sixth overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, Raiders fans everywhere were ready to celebrate. The only person more excited than the Silver and Black faithful was the star running back himself. He couldn't help but shout and pump his fists when the pick came through.
When asked what stood out about Jeanty on film, Pete Carroll was quick to answer. "I mean, guys couldn't get him on the ground," said the Raiders coach. He wasn't wrong, either. In his final season at Boise State the back plowed through defenders while racking up a whopping 1,970 yards after contact.
Ashton runs like physics is optional. His are balance allows him to bounce off contact while staying square and accelerating into open space. A natural finisher with soft hands on December 21st, 2025 Jeanty ran for 128 yards and a score while also catching 60-yard touchdown pass.
The Boise State running back finished a historic season as a Heisman runner-up in 2024. Jeanty set the NCAA all-time single-season rushing record with 2,601 yards and will attempt to change the perception that running backs aren't seen as a premium pick in the NFL Draft. The Las Vegas Raiders selected Jeanty with the second overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Defender-smudge at the prospect of facing Ashton Jeanty and his punishing running style. He applied havoc in his punishing running style. He applied havoc in 2024, breaking tackles and racking up ridiculous yardage. A first-team All-American, Jeanty became the all-time single-season rushing leader with 164 missed tackles.
Jeanty is the player the Raiders were longing for come draft day. "You better be greedy about the kind of player you're looking at and reading about, the kind of competitor and person and passionate football player you're looking for, and so, we found that in Ashton," GM John Spytek said on the 3 & Out Podcast.
