Averaging 9.2 strikeouts per nine innings in 2024, Schwellenbach struck out seven or more batters in 11 of his 21 starts. After being drafted in the second round by Atlanta in 2021, Schwellenbach underwent Tommy John surgery in March 2022. He returned to the mound in July 2023 and made his MLB debut on May 29, 2024 at Nationals. In 2021, Schwellenbach was a two-way player at Nebraska. Look at this guy – he's got that "I'm concentrating really hard on my mechanics" face like he's trying to remember if he left the garage door open. Kid's got good stuff apparently, but he's standing there like he's posing for his high school yearbook photo instead of intimidating batters. And what's with that leg kick? Looks like he's trying to step over a puddle at the same time he's throwing 95 mph!
