MLB rookie position player started more WWAR in 2025 than Drake, who finished in the 84th percentile for average exit velocity (91.7 mph). He won it rookie of the May with a .103 OPS.

Drake delivered his first career multi-homer game on August 7, driving in five runs to lead Atlanta to an 8-6 victory over Miami. After hitting a solo shot in the first inning, he smashed a three-run blast in the sixth.

In 2024, Baldwin generated buzz by hitting .298 while posting an OBP of .407 in 72 games of Triple-A ball. The promising backstop also crushed 12 homers, ripped 13 doubles and legged out a triple. Hitting the ball hard helped earn him a trip to the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, where he won more national attention by slamming a longball. Drake parlayed his success into an Opening Day roster spot in 2025.

Baldwin was selected by the Braves in the third round of the 2022 Draft out of the University of North Carolina. He made his professional debut with the Florida Complex League Braves, where he hit .333 with a .429 OBP in 13 games. Baldwin was promoted to Single-A Augusta in late July and hit .250 with a .333 OBP in 16 games. He spent the 2023 season with High-A Rome, where he hit .264 with 11 home runs and 54 RBI in 103 games. Baldwin was added to the Braves' 40-man roster in November 2023.
