ABOUT BRIAN URLACHER
Oh man, Brian Urlacher is an absolute legend for the Bears, playing middle linebacker his entire career in Chicago. The guy was just incredible at reading plays and covering ground, following in the footsteps of other Bears greats like Butkus and Singletary before earning his own spot in the Hall of Fame. He made eight Pro Bowls and was the heart of some really tough Chicago defenses during his time there. Collectors love his cards because he's such an iconic Bear and that defense was must-watch football. Look for his autographed cards and low-numbered parallels, those tend to hold their value really well with Hall of Famers.
Few teams have a richer history of producing Hall of Fame linebackers than the Bears — and Urlacher quickly proved himself elite at patrolling the area of the field once roamed by Dick Butkus and Mike Singletary. He made eight Pro Bowls while playing his entire career in the Windy City before getting his own Canton call.
Urlacher earned his reputation as one of the NFL's best by being one of the most complete linebackers in the game. The former New Mexico star has the speed to cover receivers, the instincts to diagnose plays quickly and the power to stop bigger players in their tracks. He was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2005 and has gone to eight Pro Bowls.
Urlacher joined the Chicago Bears as the ninth overall pick of the NFL's 2000 draft and has been one of the league's most dominant defensive players ever since. The former University of New Mexico standout has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first eight NFL seasons and was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2005. Urlacher has also been named to the All-Pro team five times and helped guide the Bears to Super Bowl XLI following the 2006 season.
