Look at this kid posing like he's already got a statue outside Citi Field when he's still riding buses in Double-A. That follow-through is so exaggerated he looks like he's trying to swat a fly off his shoulder with the bat. And those pinstripes better be from Binghamton, because the real Mets jersey should require at least a full season without "walloping bases-empty blasts."

ABOUT CARSON BENGE

Carson Benge is an outfield prospect in the Mets organization who's been putting up some serious power numbers in the minors. This guy had a monster game back in Double-A where he went deep twice in his first two at-bats and finished 4-for-6 with four runs scored. He's the type of prospect that collectors like to grab early before the hype train really gets rolling. Since he doesn't have official rookie cards yet, you're looking at minor league issues and first bowman cards that could really pop if he makes it to Queens and keeps hitting like that.

Leading Double-A Binghamton to a 17-3 victory at Reading on July 27, Carson went 4-for-6 with two homers, a walk, four runs and three RBI. He walloped bases-empty blasts in each of his first two trips to the dish.
