📣 DAD’S TAKEON TYLER WARREN

Look at this guy running around with his flow bouncing out of his helmet like he's auditioning for a shampoo commercial instead of playing football! And of course they're calling him "versatile" – that's just modern speak for "we don't know what position he actually plays." Back in my day, you picked a spot on the field and you stayed there, you didn't need your hair styled for three different positions!

ABOUT TYLER WARREN

Tyler Warren's one of those gritty tight ends that Indianapolis picked up in the 2025 draft, and he's already making noise with that physical style of play. This guy's got great hands and knows how to find the soft spots in coverage, plus he's not afraid to mix it up as a blocker when the Colts need him to clear some space. He's exactly the kind of tough, versatile player that can stick around the league for years if he stays healthy. His rookie cards are definitely worth grabbing now while they're still affordable, and keep an eye out for any numbered parallels since tight end rookies can really take off once they establish themselves in the offense.

Warren impressed early in Indy with his smarts and adaptability. "You tell him once, he's got a good feel for it," head coach Shane Steichen said. "And even if he's got to correct something, he's got a great mindset of getting it corrected on the next time he goes out there."

— 2025 MOSAIC

The BMOC at Penn State, Warren is in a league stacked with BMOCs in the NFL. (That's Big Man on Campus, BTW.) To the rookie TE, that's NBD. (No Big Deal — you know all this, right?) "Everybody's good, and it's tougher competition," he said. "But that's a blessing. Great competition is a gift."

— 2025 SELECT

One of the top tight ends in the 2025 NFL Draft, Warren is gritty pass-catcher who instantly added some sandpaper to the Colts offense. He has a knack for finding open areas and once he makes the catch, he's a load to bring down. He'll also get his hands dirty and drive defenders off the ball as a blocker.

— 2025 DONRUSS

The Colts tabbed Warren as their first-round pick in 2025 due to his ability to rack up big plays. He showcased this tendency during his final season at Penn State in 2024. Compiling 693 yards after the catch, he finished second among FBS tight ends behind Harold Fannin Jr. (873).

— 2025 DONRUSS

Warren appreciated all the off-season learning and training leading up to his rookie year. They say you're never working if you're doing what you love, right? he said. That's what I've been doing my whole life, so continuing to do that. Doing what I love and what I feel like I'm supposed to be doing.

— 2025 ABSOLUTE

Warren was a multi-sport athlete in high school, excelling in baseball, basketball and football. Ultimately, he chose the gridiron and was the Colts' first-round draft pick in 2025. That spelled bad news for the rest of the league, as the tight end was poised to wreak havoc on a weekly basis.

— 2025 DONRUSS

It\'s hard to gloss over Warren\'s versatility. Let\'s try. Putting away all the other stuff he does at a high level, let\'s focus on what he does as a pass-catcher: a lot. The first-round pick runs routes like a star receiver and snags everything thrown his way. With his 6-foot-6 build, he\'s priceless in the red zone.

— 2025 MOSAIC

A basketball star in high school, Warren's career at Penn State as a tight end was a win for the Colts' rookie tight end. Explosive with a route and a screen, he rolls out of the trail and lions so the ball.

— 2025 DONRUSS OPTIC

Preventing Warren from hauling in passes is hard. Trying to keep him from racking up yards after the catch, however, is borderline impossible for even the best defenders. He streaks down the field, secures a reception and then chews up the turf with powerful strides to move the chains.

— 2025 SELECT

A versatile tight end, Tyler plays the game with a receiver's toughness. He has reliable hands, effective speed and elite red-zone instincts that make him a mistakable matchup for defense each week. In the Colts 31-25 overtime victory vs the Falcons on November 9, 2025, Warren set career highs in catches (eight) and yards (99).

— 2025 CHROME BLACK

Not every pass is going to be delivered perfectly on the money for a playmaker to snag. That doesn't bother Warren, as the Colts' 2025 rookie tight end still hauls in off-target throws. Fending off the defender, he stretches out and uses his wide catch radius to haul in the ball.

— 2025 MOSAIC

The Colts haven't heavily featured a tight end in their passing attack since Jack Doyle in 2017. That's set to change after the arrival of Warren. Immediately a focal point, he pulled in a game-high-tying three grabs against the Ravens in Indy's first preseason contest. He highlighted the affair with a 23-yard connection.
