Miami went 10-3 in 2024, then posted a 10-2 regular season record in 2025 before reaching the College Football Playoff National Championship game and finishing 13-3. Quarterback Cam Ward went first overall in the 2025 NFL Draft after throwing for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns in 2024, while receiver Xavier Restrepo declared for the draft after posting 69 receptions for 1,127 yards and 11 touchdowns. The departures of Ward and Restrepo meant cards of Miami's 2024 stars surged around draft time as both players anchored the program's resurgence, while the Hurricanes' recruiting class for 2026 ranks 8th nationally and 1st in the ACC, positioning the next wave of prospects.
Where they stand: Miami enters the 2026 season at 0-0 under head coach Mario Cristobal in his fifth year, coming off back-to-back 10-win regular seasons and a playoff run. The Hurricanes are in preseason preparation with the season yet to begin, retooling the roster after losing their top two offensive weapons to the NFL while bringing in one of the nation's top recruiting classes to reload for another ACC and playoff push.
