Look at this guy – they call him "The Bus" and he's posing like he's about to bulldoze through a brick wall! With that massive frame and that determined scowl, he looks less like a football player and more like the neighborhood dad who'd chase you off his lawn with a snow shovel. At least when this human freight train "found an extra yard or two," it probably left crater-sized footprints in the turf!

A punishing back who rumbled through the defense, Bettis always found an extra yard or two after crashing into a tackler. "The Bus" recorded six consecutive seasons over 1,000 yards on the ground from 1996-2001. His thunderous rushing style perfectly embodied Pittsburgh's rough-and-rugged brand of football.
