ABOUT JONATHAN TAYLOR
Jonathan Taylor is the Colts' explosive running back who can beat you in multiple ways. He's got that rare combination of breakaway speed and goal-line power that makes defensive coordinators lose sleep. Take that Week 16 game against Tennessee in 2024 where he torched them for a 70-yard touchdown run, then came right back and bulldozed his way in from a yard out to help seal the win. Since he doesn't have traditional rookie cards from his NFL debut, collectors focus on his early parallels and numbered inserts which tend to hold their value really well.
Jonathan's workload in 2025 wasn't for the faint of heart. He led the league in carries for a second time (323) while putting up huge numbers along the way. Taylor had the most total TDs (20) while finishing third in rushing yards and explosive runs (36). "He's the best back in the league right now," coach Shane Steichen says. "There's no doubt."
In Week 16 of 2024, Taylor reminded the world just how explosive he can be. He posted his second career 200-yard effort in a must-win game for the Colts and ripped off touchdown runs of 65 and 70 yards. He totaled 218 yards in a 38-30 win over the Titans and earned AFC Offensive Player of the Week Honors.
One of the league's workhorses, Taylor carries the load for the Colts with a grinder's mentality. He wears down defenses with every carry, churning through contact and falling forward to tack on every yard possible. He rushed for 1,431 yards and punched in 11 touchdowns in 2024.
When the Colts went to Germany in week 10 of the 2025 season, Jonathan put on a show against the Falcons. Taylor ran for 244 yards on 32 carries, finding the end zone three times, including on the overtime winner in a 31-25 victory. He scored his franchise record.
Leading the charge for the Colts' ground attack, Taylor can take over a game by combining speed with a tireless motor. He hits the hole hard and once he reaches open field, he has the juice to make everyone miss and take it to the house. He led Indy with 1,431 yards and 11 touchdowns on 303 carries in 2024.
Taylor entered 2025 with the career games with at least 175 rushing yards, tied for most outings coming against familiar foes, with four of those outings coming against division rivals. He closed 2024 with a bang, rushing for 177 yards and a touchdown to send the Colts to a 25-23 overtime win vs. Jacksonville.
With great vision, excellent balance and trust in his blockers, Jonathan is an ideal running back, one with a nose for the end zone. He started the 2025 season strong, scoring seven touchdowns through Week 5. It tied him with wideout Marvin Harrison (1999) and fullback Don McCauley (1977) for the franchise's most touchdowns in the first five contests.
An NFL rushing champion and first-team All-Pro selection in his second 1,000-in in the league in 2021, Jonathan has confined to be top of the production since he tallied out of the gates in 2020. Currently on his 3rd and two scores in his a Cooper carries.
Plenty of players lose a step as the season progresses. That's not the case with Taylor, who gets stronger down the stretch. In the first three months of the season, the Colts star has averaged 77.1 yards per game through 2024. That number spikes to a whopping 119.5 in games in December and January.
Taylor knows every quarterback has his own way of doing things. It's why ever since his rookie year with Philip Rivers he makes sure to have in-depth convos with his signal-caller in order to best aid them in the backfield. "If the guy at the helm is comfortable, you've got a really great chance at winning," he said.
