PITTSBURGH PIRATES
The Pirates binder is packed with Bowman Chrome prospects and rookies like Bryan Reynolds, Bubba Chandler, and Henry Davis, plus some Finest and Chrome Black mixed in. No autos yet, but there’s plenty of young talent worth stashing. Next season brings more Bowman drops and another wave of Pittsburgh prospects to chase—this pile only gets deeper.
The Pirates finished 76-86 in 2024 and slipped to 71-91 in 2025, missing the playoffs for the 10th straight season. Paul Skenes won the 2025 NL Cy Young Award unanimously with a 1.97 ERA and 2.36 FIP, driving robust demand for his cards, while Jared Jones missed the entire 2025 season after a promising 2024. Ke'Bryan Hayes was traded to the Reds at the 2025 deadline, and rookie Bubba Chandler debuted last August, going 4-1 with a 4.02 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 31 1/3 innings, making his early cards a watch for collectors.
Where they stand: The Pirates are 54-52 and sit in 4th place in the NL Central as of August 9, 2026. Skenes is 9-10 with a 3.96 ERA in 2026, a step back from his Cy Young campaign, while the team sits 3.5 games back of a playoff spot after an aggressive trade deadline that added Kirby Yates, Camilo Doval, and Lake Bachar. The offseason brought Ryan O'Hearn on a two-year deal and prospect Jhostynxon Garcia in a trade with Boston.
