THE CALVIN HILL COLLECTION
Base, parallels, numbered, autos — every Calvin Hill card Dad’s willing to part with.
Look at this guy running around like he's got somewhere important to be – probably late for his Ivy League reunion at Yale. That uniform's so pristine and those stripes so perfectly aligned, he looks like he ironed it between carries. And they're bragging about 1,036 yards three years after his rookie season? Wake me up when that's impressive!
ABOUT CALVIN HILL
Calvin Hill was the guy who started the Cowboys' legendary running back tradition before Dorsett, Emmitt, and Zeke came along. He won Rookie of the Year in 1969 and became the first Dallas back to crack 1,000 yards in a season when he hit 1,036 in 1972. His cards don't include a true rookie since he played before the modern card era really took off, but his early 70s issues are still solid pickups for Cowboys collectors. Look for his better conditioned examples since cards from that era can be tough to find in high grade.
With Tony Dorsett, Emmitt Smith and Ezekiel Elliott filling up their record books, the Cowboys have a rich history at running back. Hill originated the legacy. Tabbed as the Rookie of the Year in 1969, he became the first player in team history with a 1,000-yard season when he ran for 1,036 yards three years later.
