MASON TAYLOR — COLLEGE DAYS
College-era cards of Mason Taylor from draft picks and collegiate sets.

Look at this guy posing like he's about to breakdance in the middle of a thunderstorm! Number 85 thinks he's some kind of superhero with that dramatic "I'm ready for battle" stance, but buddy, you're a tight end – save the theatrics for the wrestling ring. They say he's like driving in a heavy storm, but from this card he looks more like he's trying to audition for the next Thor movie!
ABOUT MASON TAYLOR
Mason Taylor is a solid tight end for the New York Jets who's built his reputation as a reliable two-way player. He's the kind of guy who can block effectively to protect his quarterback, but also has the hands and route-running ability to move the chains when his team needs it most. Taylor's become known for finding ways to get open even against tough NFL defenses, making him a valuable security blanket for Jets quarterbacks. Since he doesn't have rookie cards, collectors are mainly looking at his regular base cards and any numbered parallels or special inserts that might pop up in packs.
A reliable tight end with Hall of Fame bloodlines and modern versatility, Mason runs clean routes, shows soft hands in traffic and understands spacing like a veteran. He moves the chains with catches and contributes to the run game with his blocking. On October 5, 2025 Taylor made his first TD snag – the game-winner in a 33-38 victory over the Bengals.
Recently, the Jets haven't used premium draft picks at tight end. They tabbed Taylor 42nd overall in 2025, marking their first TE picked in the opening two rounds in more than a decade (Jace Amaro in 2014). With every catch, block and score, the LSU product will prove worthy of snapping that streak.
Going against the NFL's toughest defenses is like driving in a heavy storm. Taylor adds a layer of security to help his squad make it through safely. Along with reliable production in the blocking game, the tight end really shines as a pass-catcher, where he finds enough daylight to hit the first-down road.
Tight ends are vital to keeping the ball moving. Taylor filled that role for LSU with clutch catches over the span of his career. More than half of his receptions (72 of 129) resulted in first downs while he was becoming the first tight end in school history with more than 100 catches and 1,000 yards.
Defenses are not going to enjoy trying to keep up with Taylor. Linebackers especially are going to be gasping for air after dealing with the Jets' speedy rookie tight end. Swiftly dashing over the middle, he finds himself in a wide-open pocket of turf before snagging the pass and continuing upfield.
Shh. Hear that? That's the sound of Taylor at practice, but he's not saying anything. "Mason, he doesn't talk a lot," Jets quarterback Justin Fields said. "He does work a lot, though. From the moment he got here, he's been working. Head down working." You can see it. You won't hear it.
