📣 DAD’S TAKEON JOE MIXON

Look at this guy running around like he's auditioning for a superhero movie with all that dramatic lighting and action pose nonsense. Back in my day, running backs just ran the ball without needing a Hollywood production crew following them around the field. The Texans traded for him because he "can give a guy the ball and get yards" – well congratulations Einstein, that's literally the job description of every running back since 1920!

ABOUT JOE MIXON

Joe Mixon is a veteran running back who just made his move to Houston after spending years as Cincinnati's workhorse. He's the kind of reliable ground game guy who can carry a heavy load and comes through in clutch moments, like when he rushed for over 100 yards and scored the game-sealing touchdown in Houston's playoff win over the Chargers this past January. Collectors appreciate him because he's been consistently productive throughout his career and now he's got that playoff pedigree with his new team. Since he doesn't have true rookie cards from his draft year, his early cards from Cincinnati tend to hold decent value. Look for his Houston cards with low serial numbers or unique parallels, especially anything from his first playoff run with the Texans.

A newcomer to Houston in 2024, Joe Mixon delivered a familiar production, reaching 1,000 rushing yards for the second year in a row and the fifth time in nine years with 10 carries and a touchdown in a mid-November win at Indianapolis. That was the first of six 100+ yard games in Mixon's final seven regular season contests, and he carried that momentum into the playoffs, racking up 106 yards and a touchdown in a Wild-card playoff win.

— 2025 CHROME

Before Mixon arrived, only two players in Texans history had rushed for 10 touchdowns in a season: Arian Foster (2010-12) and Domanick Williams (2004). The veteran back added his name to the exclusive group in his first season with the team, finding the end zone 11 times on the ground en route to earning a Pro Bowl nod.

— 2025 PRIZM

Joe's first year in Houston in 2024 went a lot like his seven seasons at Cincinnati, where he had metronome-type production. Mixon ran for 1,016 yards, reaching the 1,000-yard mark for the fifth time in his career. The bruiser found the end zone three times in a Lone Star State Showdown against Dallas, finishing with one of his seven 100-yard games.
